11월 4일 제주읍에서 경비대에 잡혀 있던 포로 14명이 경비를 뚫고 탈출했는데 이 때 카빈 1정을 훔쳐 달아났다. 이 중 6명이 다시 잡혀왔고 카빈총도 회수되었다. 제주읍에서는 탈주한 포로 전원을 다시 체포하고 폭동과 관련이 있는 모든 사람들을 검거하기 위하여 비(非)상주자들과 무직자들에 대한 조사가 진행 중이다. 경비대원 2명이 11월 5일 제주읍에서 사살된 채로 발견되었다. (A-2)
보고에 따르면 11월 5일 폭도 500명이 중문리에서 경찰 지서와 주택 약 75채를 공격하고 불질렀다 한다. 공중 정찰로 건물 약 40채가 소실되었음이 드러났다. (방첩대 긴급보고, A-2)

c. Raider Activities on CHEJU-D.
on 04 November a motorized police patrol was ambushed between CHEJU City.(952-1152) and H[illegible]K NI (954-1152) by an unknown number of raiders. No casualties were reported. (.-1)
on 04 November 14 prisoners of the Constabulary in CHEJU City (952-1152) overpowered their guards and escaped, stealing 1 carbine. Six of the prisoners were recaptured and the carbine was recovered. .. round-up of non-residents and unemployed persons is under way in CHEJU City in an effort to recapture all the escaped prisoners and to arrest all persons who may be connected with the CHEJU D. disturbances. Two constabularymen were found dead in CHEJU City on 05 November. (.-2)
on 05 November 500 raiders reportedly attacked and burned the police box and approximately 75 houses in CHUNG MUI HI (941-1120). Air observation revealed that approximately 40 buildings were destroyed by fire. ..(CIC Flash Report. ..-2)
