12월 20일 서북청년단원 200명이 비밀리에 대전에 있는 경비대에 입대했다. 제주도에서 갓 도착한 제9연대에 배속된 이들은 즉시 군복을 지급 받았다. 이들의 복무는 서북청년단 지도부와 제2여단장 간의 은밀한 계획 속에 이루어진 것이다.
논평 : 이들 200명의 비밀입대는 서북청년단원으로 ‘엘리트 중대’를 구성한다는 제2여단의 계획이 완료되었음을 의미한다.

Induct 200 NWYMA Members in Constabulary
On 20 December 200 NORTH WEST YOUNG MEN'S ASSOCIATION members were secretly inducted into the Constabulary at TAEGON (1040-1410). Assigned to the 9th Regiment, newly arrived from duty on CHEJU-DO, the men were immediately issued uniforms. Their induction was secretly planned between leaders of the NWYMA and the commanding officer of the 2nd Brigade. (B-3)
COMMENT: The secret induction of these 200 men indicates that plans by the 2nd Brigade to form an "elite company" from members of the NWYMA (P/R #1018) are being completed.
