1. 한국군, 폭도를 격퇴하다
약 200명으로 추산되는 폭도들이 1월 12일 오전 6시 30분 의귀리에 주둔하고 있는 제2연대 2중대를 습격했으나 완전히 격퇴되었다. 2시간 동안의 교전 후 폭도들이 퇴각했을 때 경비대원 2명이 피살되고 10명이 부상 당한데 반해 폭도들은 51명이 사살되었다. 또한 경비대는 폭도들로부터 M-1 소총 4정, 99식 소총 10정과 카빈 소총 3정을 빼앗았다. (한국군 보고)

(4) KA Unit Defeats CHEJU-DO Attackers
An estimate force of 200 raiders attacked the 3nd Company of the 2nd Regiment at IKUI-Ri (970-1170), CHEJU-DO, at 120630 January and suf-
fored a sound defeat. When the raiders withdrew after a 2-hour fight they had lost 51 killed as opposed to 2 killed and 10 wounded for the KA unit. Arms taken from the rebels included 4 M-1 rifles, 10 Model 99 rifles and 3 carbines. (KA Report)
