최근 방첩대 보고에 따르면 제주도민들은 그들의 정치관계에 있어서 우익으로 기울고 있다. 우익 대한민주청년동맹은 과거 좌익의 본거지에서 공공연히 선전활동을 벌이고 있다. 최근 경찰의 좌익정당 분쇄 활동이 우익 단체가 공개적으로 활동할 수 있는 입지를 넓혀준 것이다. 우익인사들은 좌익인사들이 우익의 주도권에 대하여 더 이상 어떤 조직화 작업도 할 수 없을 것이라고 느끼고 있다. 우익인사들은 연설과 포스터 부착 활동으로 회원수를 늘려 가고 있다. (방첩대 정기보고 제525호)

(2) Rightist Power Gaining in CHEJU-DO
Koreans on CHEJU-DO are swinging to the right in their political affiliations, according to a recent report by CIC. The rightist GREAT KOREAN DEMOCRATIC YOUTH ALLIANCE (see par 4b/3/) is openly campaigning in old leftist strongholds. The recent disruption of leftist parties by the police is said to be the reason for the open activity of the rightists. Rightists feel that the left is no longer able to organize any resistance against right wing domination. Rightists are soliciting members by word of mouth and posters. (CIC P/R #525)
