남군지역 우익단체 가입 급증
제주도 남군 지역에서 전에 없이 우익 단체에 가담하는 주민들이 급증하고 있어 약간의 충돌이 있을 것으로 예상됐었다. 처음에는 한국독립당이 공개적으로 당원 모집 활동을 벌였었다. 이렇게 주민들이 우익 쪽으로 기울게 된 이유는 이 지역에서 우익이 강력하게 당원 모집활동을 벌였고, 경찰도 좌익분자들에 대항해 공개적으로 싸움을 벌였기 때문이다.

(2). May Day Disturbances Surprisingly Small:
Some trouble was anticipated in Cheju Do (950-1150) due to the ever increasing number of people in the South Gun districts swinging to the right. The Korean Independence Party (Tong Nip Dang ) for the first time has become openly active. The main reasons for this increase is the strenuous recruiting activities carried out by the rightists in that area and the open fight against the 'liftists' waged by the pplice.
