제주도 공산주의자들 폭동명령
제주도-공산주의자들은 2월 중순부터 3월 5일 사이에 폭동을 일으키도록 명령하였다.
1월 22일 남로당 조천지부에서 열렸던 공산주의자들의 불법회의장을 급습한 경찰이 노획해서 번역한 문건에 따르면 공산주의자들은 “2월 중순부터 3월 5일 사이에” 제주도에서 폭동을 일으킬 것을 요구했다. 또한 “경찰 간부와 고위 공무원을 암살하고, 경찰 무기를 탈취하라”는 지침이 발표되었다. (방첩대 정보요약, 2월 5일 노획문서 번역)

(1) CHEJU-DO Communists Ordered To Riot Between Middle February, 05 March
Communists have called for riots to break out on CHEJU-DO "between the middle of February and 05 March," according to translations of papers seized during a 22 January raid on an illegal meeting of the communist SOUTH KOREA LABOR PARTY branch in CHOCHUN (963-1154). Instructions had also been issued for communists to "assassinate the police staff and high officials and seize police arms." (CIC S/I 05 Feb. Translation of seized papers)
While several SKLP staff members are believed to have escaped from police who broke in on the early morning (0300 hours) meeting, 106 people who were attending the meeting were arrested and an additional 63 were picked up before noon of the same day.
