Civil Disorders: Communists are expected to intensify anti-election disturbances on 01 May and 09-10 May. 15 Right-Wing politicians and members of their families were killed during 17-18 April as Communists intensified anti-election reign of terror. This anti-Rightist phase of the anti-election campaign centered in Kyongsang-Pukto and Cheju-Do, report areas in South Korea where Communist activity has recently been heaviest (police reports). 2. Attacks were reported on registration booths. Total of 52 attacks against registration booth in all of South Korea have been reported since 02 April. The following is a compiled list of attacks by Province (including Seoul) Kyongsang-Pukto, 21; Cholla-Namdo, 8 Cheju-Do, 2; Cholla-Pukto, 1 (Police Reports). Comment: Last weeks observation, that the Communists effort against the registration program was very weak, still holds in view of the fact that 13,455 booths were set up throughout South Korea. Other major incidents on the mainland during week were two attacks on police boxes, 2 police killed, 2 Communists killed and 21 demonstrations of various kinds. Several fights between bands of armed Communists and police took place on Cheju-Do (Police Reports). Delayed reports of incidents which occured for week ending 16 April account for 7 more attacks on police boxes, 2 more policemen killed, 1 policeman died of wounds received 03 April attack on police box, 6 Communists killed in gun battles with police and a raid on a Right-Wing Youth Headquarters and 7 non-rioters were killed by Communist terrorists (Police Reports).
