남한 상황
제주도를 제외하고는 5‧10선거를 반대하는 한국의 조직활동이 잠잠해졌다. 마을의 자경대(Community vigilance)와 연합한 경찰의 작전은 후보나 선거관리위원, 유권자이든지 간에 선거 참가를 중지하도록 테러를 가하려는 공산주의자들의 오랜 활동을 저지했다.(A-1)
군대
제주도에서의 경비대 작전이 계속되고 있다. 폭도 6명이 숨지고 169명의 포로가 구금돼 있다.(B-2)

Section 1. South Korea current:
1. Except on Cheju Do the activities of Korea organizations which opposed the 10th May elections have subsided. Police action, combined with community vigilance, has discouraged a protraction of the Communist campaign to terrorize South Koreans into abandoning participation in any phase of the election, whether as candidates, officials, or voters. (A-1).
Military.
4. Constabulary action on Cheju Do continues. 6 raiders were killed and 169 prisoners are being detained (B-2).
