(1) 오라리가 5월 1일 낮 12시 30분부터 3시간 동안 폭도 50명으로부터 공격을 받았다. 경찰이 도착하여 폭도들을 마을에서 축출하였다. 폭도들은 질서 정연하게 산으로 퇴각했다. 이날 오후 5시 현재 오라리에서 확인된 사상자는 다음과 같다. 피살자는 남자 2명, 여자 4명으로, 그 중 여자 1명은 교살되었고 다른 1명은 칼에 찔려 죽었다. 여자 2명 이외에도(정기보고 제823호) 10살 소녀가 4월 30일 오라리에서 피살되었다. (경찰보고)
(2) PYUNG-NI(좌표미상)의 선거관리위원장이 5월 1일 새벽 2시에 피살되었다. (경찰보고)
(3) 제주읍 동쪽 지역과 하귀리 간의 전화선이 5월 1일 오전에 절단되었다. 같은 날 정오부터 다음 날 정오 사이에 경찰 전화선과 우편 통신선이 제주읍 동부와 서부 여러 곳에서 절단되었다. (경찰보고)

CHEJU-DO Riots Continue
The village of ORA RI (950-1160) was attacked by a mob of 50 rioters for three hours beginning at 011230 Ma Police arrived and drove the raiders from the town. Raiders withdraw to the hills in good order. The following casualties were found in ORA RI at 011700; two men and four women kille one woman being hanged and one stabbed fatally with a sword.
In addition to the two women attacked (reported in P/R #823) a ten year old girl was killed in ORA RI on 30 April. (Police rpt)
(2) The voting district chairman of PYUNG-NI (coordinates unknown) was killed at 010200 April. (Police rpt)
(3) Telephone lines from CHEJU City east to HAKWI RI (coordinates unknown) were cut during the morning of 01 May. During the 24-hour period ending 021200 May police telephone lines and postal lines were cut in many places both east and west of CHEJU City. (Police rpt)
