Interrogation of raiders captured from the village of WIDONG-NI (928-1144) furnished proof that communists have been partly responsible for violence on CHEJU-DO. One raider killed was identified as the village leader of the SOUTH KOREA LABOR PARTY and prisoners stated that other raiders are controlled and directed by the SELP. (MG report B-2) V b. Communication Equipment Confiscated on CHEJU-DO A search of CHOCEON-NI (963-1155) by the police resulted in the confiscation of a Japanese field phone, one Japanese radio and a large quantity of wire. All the equipment was in excellent condition and appeared to have been recently operated. (MG report B-2)
