논평 : 제주도에서 서북청년단이 경찰과 경비대를 지원한 것에 대하여 몇몇 미군장교들은 칭찬을 아끼지 않았다.

Youth Organization Headquarters Raided on CHEJU-DO
On 22 September the police raided the headquarters of the NORTHWEST YOUNG MEN'S ASSOCIATION on CHEJU-DO, arrested the acting chairman of the organization and confiscated a carbine and a Japanese rifle. (A-1) The weapons were allegedly obtained by the NWYMA members when raiders
attacked the HALLIM (924-1138) police station in April and the police fled leaving their weapons. (C-2) (CIC P/R #228)
COMMENT: The assistance furnished the police and constabulary by the HMYIA on CHEJU-DO has been commended by several American officers.
