## ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES
The summary of civil disturbances, attacks on US troops, cases of illegal bearing of arms, and of unauthorized shipping reported during the period of 10 August to 17 August is given below:
13. CHEJU DO (950-1150) (33°30'L-12126'32'E)
12 August 47 - A mob of approximately two hundred attacked a police box in HANDOK (965-1155), CHEJU DO. Two policemen were beaten and one woman was accidently shot. Reason for the riot is not known. (CIC Flash)

3 August 47 - Three men of a government grain collection committee were beaten by approximately fifty people in a flare-up protest against grain collection. (CIC S/I)
