The following report of Communist activities on CHEJU-DO is furnished for your information. a. The Communist, using areas formerly fortified by the Japanese, are continuing their guerrilla activities against government officials and the South Korean Government itself, which they consider a detriment to the establishment of a unified government. Money to support these operations is obtained from smuggling activities, each shipload averaging 250,000 won. b.
