Cholla-South: Extract from a CIC report of 12 June 1947: "Strikes - On CHEJU Island (951 - 1149) on 2 June approximately 180 students of the 3rd year class of the CHEJU Girls' Middle School went on strike. Demands for the most part are levied against the principal and insist on (1) higher type courses, (2) a stop to fascistic education, (3) ousting of fascistic molecules in the school, and (4) a correction of the principals actions. No political significance has been noted as yet, however, the cry against fascistic elements and domination sounds vaguely familiar carrying a 'red' undertone."
