Submarine Sighted Off CHEJU-DO: Other Intelligence Sources reported that at 1210 hours, 8 October, a Cheju Do bound plane sighted an unidentified submarine approximately three (3) miles off Cheju Do Island. At 1230 hours, 8 October, on it's return flight to KIMPO, the same plane sighted the submarine approximately twenty-five (25) miles north of Cheju Do. According to the pilot of the plane, the submarine was flying a flag with a red star, and carried the number C-53. (B-1) The image appears to be almost entirely blank/white with only some very faint marks or artifacts at the top edge that are not legible enough to transcribe as meaningful text.
