The Korean Army Staff is working now on plans to bring one battalion (preferably the Sawbuck battalion of the 2nd Regiment) back to the mainland. Later, one more Battalion or more of the 2nd Regiment will be brought back to the mainland from Cheju Do. POLICE SAWBUCKS TO BE REMOVED FROM CHEJU DO. This is just a reminder that this disturbing element now incorporated in the Chaju Do Police should be returned to the mainland and widely distributed. COLONEL YU. I present for your consideration, the name of Colonel Yu, now of 2nd Regiment in Cheju Do, who has performed during the last month in the most superior manner in reducing the unrest there. I present his name to be the Governor of Chaju Do. This practice obtains in the United States quite frequently. The Officer is given leave of absence and later returns to the Army. I believe he would be acceptable to the inhabitants of Cheju Do who appear to have great confidence in him.
