XXIV CORPS G-2 P/R #688 (3) Nine More UNITED YOUTH Chapters Organized Nine more UNITED YOUNG MEN'S PARTY chapters have been formed throughout South KOREA during the past few days in General LEE Chung Chun's continuing membership drive for his right-wing youth front. This brings the total number of new chapters reported in the past month to 43. The last nine to be reported are: the PAEKCHON (930-1690) branch which was organized 15 October with a claimed 13,000 membership from the former local branch of the PAEKCHON YOUNG MEN'S ASSOCIATION, a local unit, and the right-wing NATIONAL SOCIETY FOR ACCELERATION OF KOREAN INDEPENDENCE'S YOUTH LEAGUE (the local NO.THREE KOREAN YOUTH ASSOCIATION chapter refused to join this UYMP chapter); the SOSAN-KUN (940-1540) branch which was formed in the presence of General LEE on 05 November; the CHEJU-DO branch was formed on 07 November with a claimed membership total of approximately 1000; the formation of dong branches in SEOUL on 09 November with approximately 2000 people in attendance; the 09 November formation with 3000 initial members of the TAEAN-MYUN branch in TAEAN (930-1540); the CHINJU (1100-1350) branch formed shortly after 11 November with General LEE present for the opening meeting; the railroad branch in TAEJON (1040-1490) on 11 November; the PUNGKI (coordinates unknown) branch which was formed 11 November in the presence of the party founder, General LEE Chung Chun; and the SANGJU-KUN (1110-1500) branch formed on 15 November with General LEE as the honored speaker and guest.
