현재 상황
평양 라디오방송에 따르면 최고인민회의 자격위원회는 다음과 같이 보고했다.
“북조선에서 전체 유권자(452만 6,061명)의 99.97%가 8월 25일의 선거에 참가했고 이들(445만 6,621명) 가운데 98.49%가 선거에 입후보한 후보자들에 대해 찬성했다. 남조선에서는 전체 인민의 의지로 이중선거를 실행하기로 결정됐다. 첫째 그들은 1,080명의 대의원을 선출했다(유권자 77.59%인 868만 1,741명 가운데 673만 2,407명 투표). 반동분자들에 테러탄압에도 불구하고 1,002명이 해주에서 열린 회의에 참석하는데 성공했다. 선거일 그들은 북한에서 실시된 선거와 협력해 최고인민회의에 참석할 대의원과 애국자(360명)를 선발했다.
최고인민회의 대의원 가운데 156명은 미제국주의자들에게 체포된 적이 있고 형무소에서 심한 고문으로 고통을 받았다. 또한 대의원 가운데 148명은 제주도와 기타 지역에서 영웅적 인민투쟁에 참가했다. 503명의 대의원은 남성이며 69명은 여성이다. 528명의 의회 대의원들이 참석했고 44명은 기권했다.
최고인민회의의 대의원 자격검사를 완료한 자격조사위원회는 이에 따라 8월 25일의 선거에서 선발된 대의원들이 남북조선의 각계각층으로부터의 진정한 애국 대표이며 최고인민회의가 진정한 조선인민의 입법기관임을 주장한다.“
표는 194명은 농민이고 120명은 노동자임을 보여준다.(후략)

1. Qualifications Committee of Supreme People's Council according to radio Pyongyang, had following report to make:
"In North Korea 99.97% of total voters (4526061) participated in the election on 25 August and 98.49% of them (4456621) approved the candidacy of the delegates standing for election. In South Korea it was decided to execute a double election with the total will of the people. First they elected 1080 representatives (6732407 voting of 8681741 eligible or 77.59%); in spite of the terroristic oppression by the reactionary elements 1002 succeeded in reaching Haeju for the convention. On election day they elected their true representatives and patriots (360) to the Supreme People's Council, hand in hand with the election in North Korea.
"Among the delegates to the council, 156 have been once arrested by the American imperialists and suffered from severe tortures in the jails. Also 148 persons among the delegates participated in the heroic peoples struggle in Cheju-Do and other localities. 503 of the delegates are men and 69 are women. 528 councilmen are in attendance with 44 absent.
"Completing the examination of the qualifications of the delegates to the Supreme People's Council, the Qualifications Investigation Committee hereby asserts that the delegates who were elected on 25 August are the truly patriotic representatives from the various circles throughout North and South Korea, and that the Supreme People's Council is the truly legislative organization of the Korean people."
A tabulation shows that 194 of the members are farmers and 120 are laborers.
