EXTRACT: (USAFIK G-2 Report #101, 20 Dec 45). According to two recently intercepted letters, pirate bands are active in the Korea Strait. One writer stated that 5,000 Koreans returning from Japan in November were robbed by bands of pirates while crossing the Strait. The other writer reported that such bands are organized by the Japanese and natives of CHEJU-DO Island, off the South coast of Korea.
