제주도의 일부 경찰과 군정청 직원들이 3월 13일 파업에 들어갔다. 파업은 ‘남로당’이 공작한 것으로 보고됐다. 소요는 일어나지 않았다. 군정은 전라남도 경찰 125명과 전라북도 경찰 100명을 3월 14일 오전에 목포항을 통해 파견할 계획이다.
제주에 주둔하고 있는 제51야전 포병대대의 한 소대가 원인을 알 수 없는 화재가 제주비행장 활주로에서 약 이틀에 한 번 꼴로 일어난다고 보고했다. 방화자들은 체포되지 않고 있다.

(2) CHEJU (951 - 1151) MG employees, including a few of the Police Department, went on strike on 13 March. The strike is reported to have been engineered by the "South Korea Labor Party" (now name for
the Communist Party). No disturbances reported. MG plans to dispatch 125 policemen from CHOLLA-SOUTH Province and 100 policemen from CHOLLA-NORTH Province on the morning of 14 March from the port of MOKPO. The platoon from the 51st FA Bn, stationed on CHEJU reported that fires of unknown orgin are started approximately every other night on CHEJU air-strip; the arsonists have not been apprehended.
